November 4, 2010 Foscue Creek, Alabama. We left Demopolis Yacht basin with the intention of anchoring at Foscue Creek, just above Demopolis Lock and Dam, to stage ourselves for an early lock through to avoid tow barge traffic. As we entered Foscue Creek there was a Coast Gurard station to our starboard. We passed the USCG Station to find an anchorage. Suddenly the creek bottom was coming up fast, anchorage was not going to be possible. We get a friendly call on the VHF from another boat, Bela-Sea Casa, that we should tie up to the barge just passed the USCG Station. This was a great alternative. Soon joined by High Spirits and Monkey Girl. We rafted High Spirits so that we could accomodate everyone. We later all joined for a cookout in the space between the cargo, (steel lock panels), which was a good shelter from the cool breeze. We were secure for another night. New adventure lies ahead tomorrow heading South on the river system.
